Thankful Thursday

Jul 3rd, 2008 by Beverly | 5

This week for Thankful Thursday, we are reflecting on Independence Day. I know that we get so caught up in all of the celebrations & the fireworks, but let us reflect why we even celebrate. We need to take some time to reflect on all that this Country has done so that we can have our freedom & we need to Thank God that he has allowed us to have the freedom that other countries do not have.

  • I am thankful for Jesus.  John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • I am thankful for forgiveness of my sins. Act 13:38 “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
  • That I am free of condemnation. Romans 8:1-2  1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Ephesians 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
  • That all things work for my good. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Let us never forget the ones that laid down their life for our freedom.

Hi Beverly! I see your verse is Prov 3:5-6. God was reminding me of that just this morning! I think He’s trying to tell me something :)
